FAQ

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes – 2 Million Dollar Liability Insurance

What is your usual attire?

Our attire, unless otherwise noted, will always be formal.

Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?

Absolutely. We feel comfortable knowing that our couple is comfortable with us. We don’t like surprises any more than you do. You will meet with the DJ/MC and anyone else you will be booking to you can all be on the same page for your special day. We usually schedule multiple face-to-face meeting in our office.

Can the client submit a do-not-play list?

A do-not-play is standard in our booking portal.

What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?

In terms of lighting, intelligent lighting, uplighting, numerous special effects professionally mounted on Global Truss box trussing and much more. Even our most basic packages include intelligent lighting.

How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?

We provide everything we need for our events. We do not require any tables or other accommodations but we will be in contact with the venue to ensure no surprises the day of your event.

Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events?

Our box trussing and facades do not have our logos. Nor will you hear SoundSurge Entertainment shouted out on the microphone throughout the night. We believe that our work will speak for itself and if your guests enjoy themselves, we will be more than happy to provide them with our contact information.

Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?

Our company was built around music. Our emcees do little talking if any during dancing sets unless otherwise noted. We don’t believe in corny gimmicks to get people up. Your guests will WANT to dance, they shouldn’t need any encouragement or pressure to do so.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

Meals are never expected, but always appreciated. There is always more than one DJ present at EVERY wedding and if a vendor takes a break, it is only because there is someone available to relieve him/her.

Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?

Yes, there is NEVER any downtime during a SoundSurge event.

Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day?

Our company is equipped to handle multiple events in one day. If feel that booking multiple events on the same day will jeopardize the integrity or quality of event, we will stop booking for that date.

What is your overtime rate?

Overtime varies based on what service is booked and how many staff members are present.

Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?

We do not charge travel expenses if the event is taking place within 50 miles of our office. Speak to one of our event coordinators to establish whether or not you will incur any travel expenses.

What is the required deposit to secure your services?

A standard 20% deposit is required to book any event unless otherwise agreed to beforehand.

What additional types of events do you service?

We specialize in Weddings but also cater to Sweet 16s, Anniversaries, Baby Showers / Milestones, Bar / Bat Mitzvahs, Birthdays, Bridal Showers, Christenings, Corporate Events, Engagement Parties, Graduations, Holiday Parties, LGBT Weddings / Ceremonies, Memorials, Proms, and Quinceaneras.
